How to create a style in a cartoon scene.
“When you are in a turning point and a signal shows you the way”
the second episode of the series “How it’s made”
Photoshop, Flash and After Effects.
How a scenography, an atmosphere, the inherent style of each project is generated. Level by level, play of light, shadows and particles. Animation is the movement that comes to life in the context generated for it. The main character is wrapped in a fascinating atmosphere. Which gives the viewer awe and imaginative vision.
The translation of an idea into images is something that doesn’t always happen immediately. Often you have to work it long before reaching the desired style. Often, however, it draws itself, as if the heart-hand coding is direct and immediate. Spaces, environments, places are in the cartoon subjected only to mental limits. A drawn scenography can be painted in infinite possibilities. A single color or a touch of light can radically change the atmosphere and the inherent message of a painting. Each panel, each portion and each pixel is part of a set of parts that give harmony to the scene. The visual balance is subtle, and the character must move in this specially created space in harmony.
To create a good picture, with an appropriate and fascinating style, you must first have an overview and then use the technique to allow the vision to come to life. The style must then maintain its coherence and not leave the chosen canons. A pictorial style with light and shadow texture must therefore remain so for the duration of the video. The brushes, the drawing and the hand it produces must always be the same, maintaining cohesion in the visual transmission. The gaze of the spectator is thus accompanied and taken on a path that wraps him in a scenario of order, balance and beauty.
This is how to create a style in a cartoon scene.
